5/6 Silhouette Self-portrait - 2016/17

The individuality of our silhouettes comes alive in these drawings by 5/6 students. We looked at a very famous image of two faces called "Rubin's Vase". This optical illusion was developed around 1915 by Edgar Rubin who was a Danish psychologist. Depending on how we look at the image, we can also see a vase. Noting the individuality of these images, students traced their own silhouettes with a finger to feel their own unique silhouette as a contour line. By adding color to only the face, and using only black lines, designs and patterns, these compositions are as individual as the students who drew them.

These photographs will be on Artsonia.com for you to peruse and perhaps order your child's art on a variety of products offered through Artsonia. A portion of the proceeds come back to Eagle School in the form of funds for the Eagle art curriculum.
