6/7 Tree of Life Repousse' 2019/20

Artist Gustav Klimt is know for his painting titled; "Tree of Life". Artist Natasha Wescoat is another artist who paints stylistic trees with some of the same patterns and features as Klimt's. 6/7 students looked at examples by both artists and designed their own version of "Tree of Life". The method was metal tooling; repousse' which is a french word meaning "to push".. Working on both sides of the aluminum incorporates methods of engraving and chasing. Black acrylic paint was added and polished off to reveal an antique look with the engraved areas capturing the depth even more from the paint.
