7/8 Printmaking - 2016/17
7/8 students each selected their own subject for a relief printmaking lesson. Beginning with a sketch, students transferred the image to a piece of rubber like material, like linoleum but much softer and safer to cut. A variety of linoleum carving tools were used to achieve a variety of lines. After carving the "linoleum", an "Artist's Proof" was made with printmaking ink. Once they approved of their design and the quality of the print, final prints were made. Some chose to use a couple different colors of ink to achieve an ombre effect. The results are beautiful and as unique as each student.
