7/8 Abstract Sculptures - 2017/18
What is an organic shape? What does non-objective mean? How can we use common objects like a wood block, hanger and nylon stocking to create a unique sculpture? We looked at a variety of sculptures from artists such as Henry Moore, Pablo Picasso, David Smith, Louise Nevelson, Barbara Hepworth, Alexander Calder and Jean Arp. All of these artists have one thing in common, they created abstract sculptures. The armature of the sculptures was created from a wire hanger, shaped into an organic shape. Nylon stockings stretched over the hanger were then painted with acrylic paint and paint pen details added. You will see some recognizable images along with some abstract painting techniques.
These photographs will be on Artsonia.com for you to peruse and perhaps order your child's art on a variety of products offered through Artsonia. A portion of the proceeds come back to Eagle School in the form of funds for the EAGLE art curriculum.
