7/8 - Beyond the Border - 2017/18

7/8 students explored a variety of watercolor techniques on a sampler. This activity was useful when the techniques were applied to a painting called; "Beyond the Border". This lesson incorporated an understanding of "the rule of thirds". This technique emphasizes the focal point of a composition by visually dividing the picture plane into sections. The subject matter is placed in the middle section to create emphasis. The borders are emphasized with black pen and ink details. From weasels to turtles and dragons to birds, 7/8 students did an amazing job applying beautiful watercolor techniques.

These photographs are also posted on Artsonia.com for you to view. In addition, you may choose to order your child's image on a variety of products offered through Artsonia. A portion of the proceeds come back to Eagle School in the form of funds for the Eagle art curriculum.
