7/8A, 7/8B Reverse Self-portrait paintings 2019/20

7/8 students created paste paper by mixing paper mache paste with acrylic paint. After moistening the paper by painting water over the surface, acrylic paint was painted in sections and blended. Color groups such as warm colors or primary colors were discussed as possibilities because of their ability to blend well. Textures were added by scraping tools across the surface. Students traced their photographs onto clear acetate before painting the reverse side with acrylic in contrasting colors.
