5/6 Islamic Tile Designs 2019/20

Original Islamic Tile Designs were created mathematically based on geometry and symmetry. 5/6 students are learning how to use the letters of their name to design a square tile. The letters of their names are drawn in a triangle with the objective of filling the shape. From that point, the shape will be traced in eight sections of a square in a rotational design. Another objective of the lesson is to create a palette of five-colors. Using markers each section will be colored the same. Paint pen details will be added to finish each tile design.
